You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 83

Perhaps it was because her mood was too down. This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

Freya adjusted her mood and entered the dance studio. After class, she sought out Mrs Quinn.

“I want to resign,” she declared.

Mrs Quinn knew she could leave at any time. Nodding, she replied, “Alright, I’ll settle your wages.”

“Thank you, Mrs Quinn.” Freya expressed her gratitude for Mrs Quinn’s continuous support.

“No need to thank me.”

Even though she resigned, Freya finished her class for the day. Mrs Quinn invited her to have a meal together, and she agreed. The restaurant was chosen by Mrs Quinn, and the dishes were delicious.

Looking out through the glass window, the bustling street made her daydream.

“You can’t drink alcohol, so how about a glass of juice? I don’t know when we’ll meet again after you leave,” Mrs Quinn suggested.

Freya raised her juice glass and clinked it with Mrs Quinn.

Taking a few sips and placing the glass down, Freya’s gaze unintentionally drifted outside. To her surprise, she spotted Elijah’s car. Curious about why Elijah would be here, she then saw Liora Valentine quickly getting into his car.

“What are you looking at?” Mrs Quinn asked, glancing outside but seeing nothing.

Freya shook her head, saying, “Nothing.”

After finishing the meal, Freya returned to the villa. Elijah wasn’t there, and she wasn’t surprised. If Elijah were there, that would be surprising.

Was Elijah currently on a date with Liora Valentine?

Freya thought, like a fool, that Elijah cared about her?

Oh, how laughable!

She shook her head, urging herself not to dwell on those messy thoughts. Her belly would gradually grow. It couldn’t be hidden forever. It was time for her to leave.

Elijah took the initiative to meet Liora Valentine and even drove to pick her up, for which Liora was so happy that she almost jumped for joy.

Excited and lively, she said, “You’re looking for me, what’s up?”

Elijah’s expression was cold, radiating an aura that warned strangers to keep their distance.

Liora Valentine restrained her emotions, but she couldn’t hide her happiness since Elijah had actively sought her out.

The car deviated from the usual route. Liora Valentine felt a bit uneasy, wondering where they were going. But she didn’t dare to ask. All she could do was patiently endure her curiosity.

After a while, the car stopped. Elijah got out first. Liora Valentine hesitated for a moment, then followed suit. A deep forest looked even darker at night. The secretary brought out the two men who had kidnapped Freya. As soon as Liora Valentine saw them, her expression changed immediately. Elijah observed her reaction closely. It seemed he hadn’t misjudged her.

Liora recognized these two men. She quickly put on a calm façade. However, it was too late. These three were just money-driven thugs. Now that their plan had failed, they directly betrayed Liora Valentine to save themselves.

“It’s her. She gave us money to kidnap that dance teacher.”

The three pointed accusing fingers at Liora, who didn’t even get a chance to defend herself.

Liora angrily retorted, “What nonsense! I don’t know you.”

“But we know you.” The men claimed, “We recorded a video secretly back then to extort money from you in the future.”

Now, that video was in the secretary’s hands.

Liora was rendered speechless in an instant. Faced with evidence, she couldn’t deny it.

“Elijah, let me explain…”

Elijah coldly interrupted her, “I told you not to call my name!”

“It wasn’t intentional. I just got hot-headed for a moment and didn’t actually want to harm Freya,” Liora Valentine explained.

Elijah, watching her hypocritical and malicious face, felt thoroughly disgusted. Every word he spoke to her seemed to tarnish him. He looked at the three men, “Do you want me to let you go?”

The three men nodded eagerly.

Of course, they wanted freedom.

“Each of you slap her once, and I’ll let you go.”

Liora was dumbfounded. She couldn’t believe Elijah would say such a thing.

How could he…

Elijah ordered his secretary to release the three kidnappers.

“How could you do this to me?” Liora couldn’t accept it.

She had committed too many wrongs, and Elijah couldn’t tolerate her malice any longer. If he did it himself, wouldn’t he dirty his hands?

Liora Valentine was no different from these three thugs.

One of the men, eager to escape the current predicament, seized the opportunity when Liora was off guard and slapped her.

Liora was instantly dazed. Her head buzzed and her face burned with pain. The other two, seeing the leader running away, didn’t hesitate. They came forward, hit Liora Valentine, and then fled.

Elijah gave his secretary a look, “Take them to the police.”

Liora opened her eyes.

Were they taking her to the police?

Wasn’t the humiliation she had endured enough?

Tears welled up in her eyes.

Elijah didn’t spare her a glance.

Soon, the secretary had the fleeing men caught again.

The three men complained, “Didn’t you say you’d let us go? We’ve hit her, are you going back on your word?!”

Elijah nonchalantly replied, “I did let you go, but you got caught again.”

The secretary took them away and handed them over to the police. Only then did Liora Valentine realize that Elijah was sending those three to the police. She had thought Elijah was going to exterminate her. Covering her face, she thought these slaps were trivial compared to being taken to the police station.

“Fend for yourself.” Elijah left in his car.

He left her here, in a place with no village or shop in sight.

What if there were thugs around?

She chased after the car, shouting, “Don’t leave me here!”

The car disappeared in no time. The surroundings were pitch-black, without even a streetlight. Liora Valentine ran while screaming, as if ghosts were chasing her.

Elijah returned to the villa. Since it was late, the main lights were off, leaving only a nightlight on, casting a dim glow. He went upstairs, pushed Freya’s door to see if she was asleep but there was no sign of her. At this late hour, his first reaction: Did this woman run away again?

“Freya Stone.” He called out softly.

There was no response. His brows gradually furrowed. Elijah turned around and went downstairs, heading outside while pulling out his phone. Mid-call, he saw a figure in the night. He put down the phone and walked over.

Sitting on the grass was Freya.

He breathed a sigh of relief; why did he think she had run away again?

She promised herself that she wouldn’t run away.

“Why aren’t you sleeping?” asked he.

“The stars tonight are as bright as yesterday.” Answered she.

Elijah also sat beside her, looking up. He reached out and hugged Freya’s shoulder, letting her lean on him.

Let’s watch together.

Freya turned to look at him, saying, “I want to give you a surprise.”
