Celestial Queen: Revenge Is Sweet When You’re A Zillionaire Heiress

Chapter 1789

Chapter 1789:

Rhys was still motionless, prompting Harlee to gently set Felix back on his lap, thinking she might have imagined it. Felix, assuming the game was back on, started bouncing again, his little face alight with joy.

Just as Harlee was about to lift Felix off again, Rhys’ eyes fluttered open. She froze, her eyes widening in disbelief.

“You… You’re awake… You’re finally awake.”

Tears of relief and joy welled up in Harlee’s eyes, blurring her vision until little Felix reached up to touch her face.

Although Rhys was awake, his body was still recovering from being dormant for three months, and many of his functions remained sluggish. His throat was especially dry, preventing him from speaking, so all he could do was gaze at Harlee.

Realizing he might need immediate assistance, Harlee quickly pressed the call button beside the bed, scooped up Felix, and called out, “Serena, get over here quickly. Rhys is awake! Also, can you call my parents and let them know the good news?”

Serena, who usually waited in the hospital courtyard after dropping Felix off, received Harlee’s call and sprinted toward Rhys’ ward, her face lighting up with joy. On the way, she phoned Lonnie and the others to share the incredible news. The atmosphere shifted, the gloom lifting as hope returned with Rhys’ awakening.

After the medical team conducted a thorough examination, Serena’s smile grew even wider.

“Harlee, Mr. Green’s condition is very promising. With some rehabilitation, he’ll be back to his old self soon.”

Harlee felt a profound sense of relief. The phrase “every cloud has a silver lining” had never felt more real. She had weathered the storm, and at last, the skies were beginning to clear. Her eyes welled up once more, but this time, the tears were from overwhelming joy.

This was a day of celebration, not tears. She resolved to return to the Harlee everyone knew—the one who didn’t let her tears show easily. Today marked a new beginning, and she was ready to embrace it with strength and a smile.

Rhys struggled to lift his hand. Harlee quickly moved to grasp it, noticing he seemed about to speak. She leaned in closer.

“What do you want to say?” she asked, her voice trembling slightly.

“C-lee… Are your dad and Fel alright?” Rhys managed each word with difficulty, as if each syllable strained his throat.

“If you’re uncomfortable, don’t talk right now. Rest a bit and then we can chat,” Harlee quickly interjected, her voice thick with concern. “My dad and Fel are fine. Now, you just need to focus on your recovery, and then our whole family will be healthy.”

She chose not to disclose the full extent of Felix’s health challenges just yet.noveldrama

Thanks to Serena’s diligent care over the past three months, Felix had progressed well and was almost as active as any other child, despite being somewhat weaker.

Rhys nodded, managing a weak smile, and reached out to touch her head.

“Don’t cry. I keep my promises. I’ll protect you all.”

Overwhelmed, Harlee’s tears flowed freely as she leaned against Rhys, crying silently.

Serena, sensing the need for privacy, quietly took Felix out of the room, leaving the couple alone. Rhys had finally woken up. It was truly wonderful.
