Chapter 1012
It was a green spore that looked like a type of fungus.
It looked very normal, but Wilbur was able to observe through his spirit energy that the green spore had a surprisingly strong life force and a strange energy.
He picked up the spore curiously, searching through it with his spirit energy.
The next second, Wilbur's eyes widened in shock.
The life force within the green spore seemed similar to those in humans, and the energy it held was extremely special and mysterious- it was as if there was some form of life in it.
Ryder walked over then. "Did you find something, Sir?"
"This plant's really interesting. It's got a strong life force and this weird energy in it," said Wilbur.
Ryder took it from Wilbur, peering at it before saying, "I'll have it sent to Seechertown now for headquarters to run research on it."
Wilbur nodded, and Ryder put the green spore away.
Wilbur looked over at Tony. "Our mission here is done, Secretary Howie. We'll be on our way now. Goodbye."
"Oh, there's no rush for that! The trip here wasn't easy either, was it? Why don't we go for a meal and chat before we go?" Tony said at once.
Wilbur frowned. "That won't be necessary. We're all extremely busy people, I won't be in your way."
He left with Ryder after that, driving off in their car.
Tony frowned after them, before turning back to the others. "I'll be out of your way too, then. Carry on with your work."
He called the Special Forces captain over, before glancing coldly at the still-dazed members of Bassan's tribe. "Get them out of here. Arrest them if they try anything funny."
"Yes, sir."
Tony turned to leave with his men after that.
At the same time, over at a gigantic canyon deep in the mountain.
The canyon was lined with green spores about half the height of an adult human being. It was unclear if they had been there for thousands, or millions of years.
All of a sudden, one of the spores split open. Out crawled a monster about a meter tall.
The monster had completely green skin, two sharp ears, and four protruding, interlocked fangs.
Its body was short but muscular.
The monster squinted around blearily, before turning around to devour the green spore that it had come out of and letting out a satisfied burp.
Just then, a stray deer trotted past.
The green monster's ears perked up. It picked up a rock, hurling it out with all his might.
The deer collapsed to their ground, blood splattering and its remains littering the ground.
The green monster let out an excited howl, pouncing forward. It crouched by the deer's carcass, feasting on the flesh.
Right after that, several considerably large spores split open to reveal a few more green monsters.
After the same initial confusion, they rushed toward the deer carcass as well excitedly.
Soon enough, however, they began to attack each other in an attempt to get more food, and a fight broke out.
The monsters tore at each other with whatever means they could-teeth, fists, the nearest rocks, or branches. Anything within their vicinity was a weapon, and they were determined to win this battle.
It was not long before every green monster was wounded to some extent, a trickle of green blood flowing.
After a battle that lasted over ten minutes later, one of the green monsters had killed two green monsters, and heavily wounded the remaining two.
The two wounded green monsters surrendered, then retreated to the side.noveldrama
The green monster that won let out a howl to the heavens. A faint glow shone on
his body as he turned back to the deer, enjoying the spoils of war.
