Chapter 502
"Timothy, do you know who it is you're really up against?"
"Sir, Dustin is a criminal of the highest degree. The higher-ups have already put out a prime level warrant to arrest him. Aren't you the one who keeps telling me not to be afraid of powerful people in the quest for justice? Don't you always say not to be swayed by any physical or psychological temptations?"
Timothy assumed that Anson was being tempted by a bribe. That was why he was giving this righteous speech.
"Enough. No need to say anything further," Anson said in frustration.
Timothy could not tell what was going on. He tried to persuade Anson with talks of justice. It displeased Anson greatly.
"Sir, we must arrest Dustin and make him stand trial! We must do right by all those innocent people who died violently at his hand!" Timothy was still going on.
"I told you to shut up!" Anson roared. He was unable to hold himself back.
Was Timothy an idiot? Could he not tell that Anson was displeased at the moment?
Could he not tell that he had no place to make demands when Anson was in such a bad mood?
Timothy was stunned by Anson's roar. He did not understand why his teacher had suddenly had such a change in attitude.
He had not said anything wrong, after all.
Anson could not be bothered to deal with Timothy. He sucked in a deep breath and walked toward Dustin with a stony expression on his face.
When he got near, he bowed to Dustin.
"I was wrong and made a lapse in judgment when it came to who I was dealing with. I am sorry for my transgression, sir. Please forgive me," he said solemnly.
In an instant, everyone around them was stunned.
The Superintendent of the Martial League, an Apex Martial Saint, who had been adamant that he would capture Dustin just moments ago, had a complete change of heart.
He was even apologizing to Dustin so politely!
Everyone was astounded and could not believe what was going on.
Nothing made sense!
"B-but..."
Timothy froze. He was completely taken aback.
What was Anson doing?
He had deliberately asked Anson to come so that he could go against Dustin.
So why was Anson bowing to Dustin in front of everyone?
What in the world was going on?
"What did the Superintendent see?" Elijah looked annoyed.
He had hoped that Anson would get the job done, but this was the opposite of what he wanted.
What was Anson thinking?
He really could not puzzle out why Anson was acting this way.
Everyone was reacting in the same way. They were all shocked and confused.
Allison was quite calm, while Madison raised an eyebrow as she assessed Dustin. Dustin was a prime level criminal.
The Superintendent of the Martial League was more powerful than the top Mystic Agent of the Outlaws Department.
Yet, Anson was behaving this way.
Anson represented the Martial League. Was he not afraid that he would shame
the entire Martial League by doing this?
What secrets was Dustin hiding?
Beyond the crowd, Lord Barbenheim looked solemn.

"The only thing that could cause Anson Cavanaugh to change tacks so violently is... Could it be that token? How did Dustin get his hands on it?" ?"Ford Barbenheim's expression turned darker. He was desperately trying to come up with the best course of action,
No matter what the crowd thought, Anson did not seem like he was going to explain anything. He kept himself lowered in a bow before Dustin and waited for Dustin to speak.
"You attacked Tyler tonight, which
goes against the creed of the Martial
League. It's an insult to its rules, s Dustin said evenly.noveldrama
Hearing this, Anson looked up. He grimaced.
"I accept that I made a mistake. I will pay for it accordingly!"
After he said that, he suddenly unsheathed a short sword and ruthlessly swung it
toward his right hand.
With a flash of the blade, he chopped his right palm off the wrist.
Everyone was shocked when they saw this.
What do you think?
