Chapter 80
Jesse’s voice trailed off, magnetic and alluring, like a feather suddenly brushing against Nydia’s ear, sending shivers down her spine.
An electric current ran through Suma’s entire body.
Nydia met his gaze, not with fear but with a hint of shyness that slowly spread through her eyes.
Jesse felt a lump in his throat and turned off the bedside lamp, saying in a deep voice, “Go to sleep!”
“Okay, goodnight,” Nydia replied.
At first, Nydia didn’t get closer to Jesse. Based on her understanding of him, getting closer at this time would probably be rejected. But she remembered that when she was thirsty and wanted to drink water just now, she had gotten up from his embrace.
Just then, a thunderous roar sounded, shaking the heavens.
She moved closer to him and hugged him, saying, “I’m scared!”
“… Weren’t you scared during those five years before?”
Although he knew it was just her acting, he didn’t say anything and just lay there motionless.
He was lying flat, while Nydia was lying on her side, hugging his waist. Seeing that he didn’t push her away, she plucked up the courage to put her leg on him.
“Don’t go too far!” Jesse warned in the darkness, but Nydia wasn’t afraid.
However, thinking of his leg injury, she put her leg down.
The two didn’t speak anymore but could hear each other’s heartbeat and shallow breathing.
Before they knew it, both fell asleep.

Early in the morning, Molly ran into Nydia’s room.
“Mommy, mommy, good morning…” She didn’t finish her sentence as she saw Nydia and Jesse lying in bed, hugging each other.
She widened her eyes in disbelief as she looked at the scene.
Nydia and Jesse woke up.
“Good morning, Molly,” Nydia said, still feeling groggy from lack of sleep.
“Brother, brother! Daddy and mommy slept together!” Molly shouted loudly, and Tavish, who was waiting at the door, rushed in immediately, showing the same expression as Molly.
Both children were extremely shocked, after all, Nydia and Jesse had not slept together since they could remember.
Nydia was now awake and explained, “Mommy wasn’t feeling well last night, so Daddy came over to take care of me.”
“Daddy, mommy, rest for a while longer.” Tavish said and pulled Molly out.
Jesse got up from the bed and sat back in his wheelchair.
Nydia was regretful. If she had woken up earlier, she could have secretly looked at Jesse’s legs and at least known what the situation was like. Otherwise, it would be difficult to develop a treatment plan without knowing the condition of his legs.
Jesse saw Nydia frowning and tapping her own head while sitting in the wheelchair and said, “Come here.”
Nydia was confused but still went over and leaned towards him.
He raised his hand and placed his palm on her forehead to feel the temperature, which had gone down a bit compared to last night. It seemed that the fever was subsiding.
“Continue taking medicine today and get plenty of rest,” Jesse said.
“What about you? Will you continue to deal with things at the company?”
“Yeah.”
“Are you an iron man? Aren’t you tired or in pain?”
Jesse’s fingertips trembled, but he didn’t say anything and just turned the wheelchair to leave. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
When he went out, he saw the two little guys huddled together and didn’t know what they were talking about. When they saw him, they immediately showed a mischievous expression.
“Good morning, Daddy.”
“Good morning.”
He headed towards his bedroom to freshen up.
