Secrets Of The Neglected Wife

Chapter 942

Chapter 942:

Allison squeezed his hand. “Mm.”

The phrase “go home” had once felt like an empty promise. As a child in the orphanage, she had never understood what “home” truly meant. Even after she married Colton, he was rarely ever home.

In her three years of marriage, Allison had never known the comfort of a loving home.

But now, with Kellan by her side, she felt it — a place where her heart could finally rest.

Twenty minutes later, Allison and Kellan reached the Lloyd family home. The first person to greet them was Floyd. “Allison, you’ve finally come back,” he said warmly.

Floyd had been making regular trips to the Lloyd house to care for Kinslee. In truth, though, he had also been eager for a chance to see Allison sooner than expected. Now that she was standing before him, a gentle smile spread across his face.

“How was your trip to Vrining?” he asked.

“It was wonderful. I saw so many stunning places,” Allison replied, her tone bright with curiosity. “How is Kinslee doing these days?”noveldrama

“She’s doing very well, just as I told you on the phone,” Floyd answered. As he spoke, he acted as though Kellan, standing silently by her side, didn’t exist.

A faint shift in Floyd’s expression betrayed his thoughts for a split second. When Allison had abruptly ended their call earlier, he had clearly heard the quiet sound of Kellan’s laughter in the background. As a man himself, it didn’t take much effort to piece together what might have been happening. Still, Floyd kept his usual calm and gentle composure.

“Kinslee is now able to regain clarity for two to three hours a day. That’s already a big step forward,” he said smoothly.

After giving this update, he turned his gaze, as though just now noticing Kellan’s presence. “Mr. Lloyd, would you like to visit Kinslee first?” he asked politely.

Floyd couldn’t ignore the obvious. Allison’s trip to Vrining likely wasn’t just about taking in the sights. And from the way she and Kellan interacted now, it was clear they shared something—a bond that excluded him entirely.

“Of course,” Kellan replied with ease. “I was just about to go see Grandma with Allison.”

“By the way, Dr. Pierce, thank you for everything you’ve done for Grandma,” he said smoothly. “We’ll make sure you’re rewarded generously—ten times over—as a small gesture of our appreciation.”

“There’s no need for that,” Floyd replied, pushing his gold-rimmed glasses up the bridge of his nose. “I’m simply doing my job as a doctor. More than that, I want Allison to be…”

“Happy. This has nothing to do with money—or you, for that matter.” The two men locked eyes, an undercurrent of tension flickering between them.

“Dr. Pierce, I won’t take up more of your time,” Kellan said, his tone calm but dismissive. “I’m sure you have other matters to attend to.” As he spoke, Kellan casually slipped an arm around Allison’s waist, glancing at Floyd with a lazy, almost taunting expression.
