Chapter 1127
Chapter 1127:
“Hey, why would you say I’m crazy?” Bailee said, slightly miffed. She had tried several times to lure Gabriela to her side, but to no avail.noveldrama
Gabriela quickly wrapped her arms around Bryan’s thighs. Bryan bent down, lifting her into his arms as she giggled. Bryan chuckled. He then turned to Bailee. “Gabriela is overdue for a shower after five days of travel. I’m going to take her for one now.”
Bailee couldn’t resist teasing. “That explains the smell!” Gabriela sniffed her arm and whispered to Bryan, “I don’t smell bad. I’ll shower and smell amazing soon!”
“Having a child around really brings life to the house. I’ve missed this,” Bailee, sitting next to Eileen, kept her eyes on Bryan and Gabriela until they were out of sight.
Eileen chuckled and said, “You’ve been married long enough. Maybe it’s time to think about having your own baby.”
Bailee tensed and glanced around. Huey was still distracted, looking elsewhere and not catching the conversation. “There’s no rush,” Bailee replied.
“No rush?” Eileen questioned, her brow furrowing. “Mom has been warning you to have a child for a while now. She has urged you multiple times about it.”
Eileen believed Bailee and Huey loved children dearly and seemed well-prepared for parenthood. Besides, they had been married for quite a while now.
“We need more time just for us. We’re not really ready to give up our alone time just yet,” Huey joined them, settling down with a smile. “Eileen, we’re not planning on kids yet, but we’re here to support you with Gabriela. And whenever you decide to have another child, we’re here to help. Sounds good, doesn’t it?”
Eileen was taken aback upon hearing this and looked between Bailee and Huey, who both offered forced smiles.
“As long as you have a plan,” Eileen said, not pressing further. Maybe Huey still wanted to have some alone time with Bailee.
“You just got back, and I’ve got good news—my mother has awakened and is undergoing rehabilitation. With all that’s going on, we need to see her right away,” Huey said.
“Really? That’s wonderful news! How is she recovering?” Eileen asked, her face lighting up with joy.
“She had been unconscious for nearly two years. The doctors attributed it to blood congestion in her brain, which has now been resolved. She is making rapid progress. She has started walking and is capable of taking care of herself.” The large villa resonated with happiness and laughter. In the evening, a family dinner took place, filling the atmosphere with lively chatter.
Meanwhile, the Dawson Mansion lay quiet, illuminated only by faint lights. Stella, leaning on her cane, gazed out into the dark courtyard, lost in thought.
“It’s getting late. Mr. Dawson mentioned he’d return tomorrow. You should head to bed soon,” Jarred approached her.
Shaking her head, Stella said, “I’m wrestling with how to discuss that matter with him when he visits me. When he was away, he only called you to check on my health, which shows he still harbors some grudges about that.”
Jarred exhaled deeply. “Why bring it up if it upsets him? Plus, you aren’t even sure of the facts.”
Stella’s frustration was evident. “That’s exactly why I need a chance to verify it. He never allowed me the chance to do that. If he’s so sure, why deny me the opportunity? Ever since I voiced my suspicions, he’s been avoiding me, not even letting me see Eileen and Gabriela. He is obsessed with Eileen!”
