The Divorced Heiress’s Revenge

Chapter 2468

Chapter 2468

Nigel was an old man in his twilight years, yet in the presence of the board-which

consisted of men still in their prime-he remained sharp and dignified. His silver hair did nothing to dull his imposing presence.

Seated with perfect composure, he exuded such an undeniable authority that Gregory was instantly pulled back to the days when he had worked beneath the crushing weight of his father's rule.

"Chairman Salvador, esteemned board members, I trust no one objects to this old man

attending today's meeting." Nigel's gaze swept across the room, his smile never quite reaching his eyes.

The board members hurried to respond. "You are a director of Salvador Corporation. It is only right!"

Nigel gave a slow, deliberate nod. "The company is weathering a storm. The stock price is volatile, and all eyes are upon us. You all know I had retired, choosing to step away from business to enjoy my later years.

"I had hoped to entrust the company to my children and grandchildren to avoid overstepping and earning their resentment. But time and again, crises have arisen. As a director, I cannot simply stand aside. It is my duty to shoulder this burden alongside all of you."

Gregory pressed his lips together until they turned pale, yet he had no choice but to agree. For nearly 20 years, he had fought to take his younger brother's place. After relentless effort, he had finally secured his father's approval-finally earned the right to wield control over the Salvador Corporation.

Now, the old man had suddenly returned to the boardroom, his every word steeped in concern for the company.

Gregory's expression flickered. His face burned with shame, as if his father had just slapped him.

"Gregory." Nigel's voice rang out, firm and commanding.

Gregory straightened at once. "Yes, Father."

Nigel's expression was solemn. "I understand that after recent events, the company has suffered a severe public backlash. You are preparing to vote on whether Grant, as president, should be held accountable."

Grant remained still, his dark gaze unreadable.

Gregory cleared his throat. "Yes..."

"Set that matter aside for now. I have something important to announce."

The room fell silent. Everyone waited.

"The Salvador Corporation is about to welcome a new board member."

A ripple of astonishment spread through the room.

Justin and Grant both leaned forward, their backs leaving the chairs, eyes fixed on Nigel's calm face in disbelief.

Gregory's eyes widened. "A new board member? Who?!"

"It is me." The voice was clear, melodic, and carried an effortless authority.

The moment it reached his ears, Justin's entire body tensed. A strange sensation coursed through him, like an electric current running through his veins, making his fingertips tingle against the pen in his grasp.

Even Grant, always composed, his expression never betraying his thoughts, lifted a brow sharply. His Adam's apple moved as he swallowed-the only sign of his surprise.

Before everyone's eyes, a woman stepped into the conference room.

Dressed in an impeccably tailored white suit, heels clicking against the polished floor, Bella moved with the quiet confidence of someone who belonged on a pedestal. She came to a stop beside Nigel, her posture effortlessly poised.

Her long, jet-black hair cascaded over her shoulders. Though her delicate face had thinned slightly, even with only the lightest touch of makeup, she was radiant-like a rose in full bloom, vibrant and untamed.

But what truly seized the board members' attention were her eyes. Her bright, almond- shaped eyes were sharp as a blade and unwavering in their steadiness.

Not a single one of these seasoned businessmen dared to underestimate her.

"Bella?!" Gregory nearly choked on his own disbelief.

His jaw tightened as a surge of fury shot straight to his head, aimed directly at the breathtaking woman standing before him. "Dad! Are you saying she's going to be a director

of Salvador Corporation? What kind of joke is this?!"

"I am not joking." Nigel lifted his head, his expression calm, his smile gentle yet

unwavering.

Bella lowered her gaze slightly and clasped Nigel's aged, calloused fingers with both hands -a quiet show of respect of unspoken understanding.

"I have decided to transfer 10% of my shares to Ms. Thompson."

Gregory's world tilted. "What did you just say?!"

His breath hitched, his mind racing, but Nigel had already dismissed his outrage as though it were nothing more than an insignificant murmur in the wind.

"From today onward, Ms. Thompson is a major shareholder of Salvador Corporation," Nigel declared, his voice carrying the weight of finality. "I am bringing her into the boardroom. If anyone has objections, speak now-do not wait until the vote to stir up trouble. I may be old, but I have a long memory. I do not take slights lightly."noveldrama

Silence fell over the room like a heavy curtain.

Who would dare oppose him? To challenge Old Master Nigel was as good as throwing away their own future.

Justin's gaze flickered to Bella. Her face remained poised, unreadable, but when he turned to his grandfather, realization struck.

Nigel controlled 27% of Salvador Corporation's shares. Transferring 10% to an outsider -

especially one with no familial ties-was a move few would consider wise. To some, it might even seem reckless.

But Justin knew better. This was no gamble. It was a calculated strike.

By supporting Bella, Nigel had created an unexpected yet formidable ally within the board, effectively weakening Gregory and Grant's control over company decisions.

To outsiders, giving shares to someone unrelated by blood would be seen as a desperate, irrational move, but Justin understood. If he could not trust Bella, then who else in this treacherous world could he trust?

Since Justin had pieced it together this quickly, how could Grant not?
