Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1663

Sandy could see she wasn't keen on discussing it further, so she just waved her off. If Yvenne had her own way to handle things, Sandy was happy to let her. She wasn't up for wasting any more thought on it.

When Fiona walked back into the classroom, you could hear a pin drop. Everyone was staring, and right behind her was Jackson, who'd walked her back.

"Go on in, I'll swing by to pick you up for dinner later," Jackson said, gently ruffling her hair with a warm smile as she made her way to her seat. Meanwhile, Nash got called out, trailing behind Jackson to the stairwell corner with a reluctant look.

"Jackson."

"You still remember I'm your Jackson, huh?" Jackson was really ticked off this time, glaring at Nash. "What did I tell you? Fiona's a delicate young lady, and I asked you to look after her. Is this how you do it? Your allowance is getting halved this month."

With that, Jackson stormed off, leaving Nash standing there, confused and unsure of what to do next.

On Fiona's side, just as she sat down, someone next to her piped up, "So, what's up with you and Yvenne?"

Fiona ignored him. Gossip was just part of the package with these folks. As long as it didn't mess with her interests, she was cool with it.

Her phone buzzed with a message from Tyler about Allen and Erica. It was clear things were more complicated than they seemed.

Fiona quickly shot off a message to the dean asking about Erica's whereabouts, only for the dean to call her up immediately.

Turns out, Erica's location had been leaked by a caretaker, who had since vanished. The hospital entrance was now a circus, packed with people.

Erica's family was causing a ruckus outside the hospital, demanding the hospital and Allen take responsibility.

They insisted Erica was the perfect,

obedient girl who couldn't possibly have gotten pregnant out of wedlock. They blamed Allen, questioning why Erica would go to him instead of her parents.

The usual gender bias was at play, and Fiona knew this was a tough crisis to untangle.

She called Jasmine right away,

asking her to dig into who Erica had

been in touch with at the hospital

and to check out her family's finances over the past year

Jasmine didn't quite get Fiona's angle but went ahead with the request.

It wasn't the right time for Fiona to show up at the hospital. Despite being a

doctor, her young age might make people skeptical.

Fiona picked a quiet moment to call the dean. Jackson had already filled the dean

in, so her call was a bit redundant.

With the Woods family stepping in,

the uproar over the medical issue was quickly hushed down. But some sharp-eyed folks had already caught wind of it, leading to several of Allen's endorsements getting canceled. Scandals like these were unpredictable, and no brand wanted to risk their reputation bynoveldrama

associating with a celebrity caught in the middle of one.
