Chapter 440 Hatred Rises Again

Archibald didn't even give Sophia a second glance.

He walked straight in, heading towards Dean, his dull eyes scanning the entire room.

Seeing Archibald, Dean quickly sobered up and stood, greeting him. "Archibald, what brings you here?"

Archibald didn't respond, instead, he scrutinized Dean and inspected the room. His actions made Sophia feel disrespected, as if her presence was something unpleasant. 'Wait,' Sophia thought. 'Emily must have said something to Archibald! Yes, that must be it!'

Otherwise, Archibald, who had never met her before and didn't know her background, wouldn't have such a strong hostility toward her.

The more she thought about it, the angrier she got. Clenching her fists, she happened to lock eyes with Archibald.

Sophia was startled; she hadn't noticed when Archibald started looking at her.noveldrama

Archibald saw Sophia's contorted face, her clenched fists, and her gritted teeth.

In that moment, Archibald knew Emily was right, and his own judgment wasn't wrong. Sophia was indeed trouble.

"You should wait outside. I need to talk to Dean," Archibald said.

Sophia was about to smile and respond when Archibald changed his mind and said, "Never mind, just go. I'm taking Dean out today, and it's not convenient for you to be here."

Sophia was stunned, not knowing how to respond.

Dean spoke up, "Archibald, what are you doing?"

Archibald could see that if he didn't intervene, Dean would probably go overboard and end up clashing with him So, he had to find another way to get rid of Sophia.

"What am I doing? Today, I have an important old friend to meet, one of Dad's former colleagues... You wouldn't remember. It's not appropriate to bring your girlfriend along, right?"

Dean fell silent.

He gave Sophia a look, and she seemed to understand. Forcing a smile, she politely said goodbye to Archibald and left.

But Sophia had seen enough fake faces to know what Archibald really meant.

It was clear to her that Archibald didn't like her, and she could tell from just one look. Especially that last glance he gave her, it was just like the way Mason looked at her. Every time Sophia thought about it, she hated them, and she hated Emily even more. In Sophia's eyes, she and Emily were no different.

Both were Browns, both were Hayden's daughters, both lived in the Brown Villa, and both were top talents in the jewelry industry. In fact, Sophia felt she had more to offer than Emily.

She had Michael's love and had worked at Smith Corporation.

These were things Emily could never match!

But why?

Why did all these men like and respect Emily, but treated her like a monster?

Thinking it over, Sophia concluded there was only one possibility.

Emily must have said something about her to them.

'She's always jealous of me,' Sophia thought.

Gradually, hatred filled Sophia's heart, and her face twisted with anger. Looking down at her new work uniform, Sophia felt even more frustrated. "Emily, if you won't let me be happy, I won't let you be happy either!" With that, Sophia took the elevator downstairs and dialed a number.

The call was quickly answered, and a sycophantic voice came through.

Sophia, her face tense, spoke through gritted teeth. "Hey, I need you to find someone's address!"

The voice on the other end replied lazily, "Is it your sister Emily again? Why are you always after her?"

Sophia's anger flared. "Is that your concern? Just find it for me! I need it by noon today! One second late, and you won't get a dime!"

With that, Sophia hung up and stormed out of the hotel elevator in her high heels. Abigail had found a new job.

Today was her first day.

To celebrate, Emily got up early and made a lavish breakfast for her.

"Emily! I'm so lucky to have you!"

Emily smiled and affectionately patted Abigail's chin. "Alright, enough flattery! Eat up and get to work. Don't be late on your first day!"

Emily took a spoonful of oatmeal.

Abigail laughed and said, "You look more and more like a perfect wife and mother. Should I marry you?"

"Sure, but first, get me a wedding dress worth $880,000, okay?" Emily joked back. Abigail quickly responded, pretending to be annoyed. "$880,000? It's my first day at work, and you're already trying to scam me. How about a friends' discount?" Emily didn't make it hard for her friend. "How about a dress worth $88,000?" Abigail laughed.  "You're really my best friend!"

After a morning of playful banter, Emily watched Abigail leave for work.

With nothing to do and no online work, Emily decided to tidy up the kitchen.

Noticing the nice weather, she opened the door, swept the living room, dusted, and weeded the yard.

By the time she finished, it was nearly noon.

Emily didn't notice the time, nor did she see the pair of fierce eyes watching her from a distance.

"Emily, so this is where you live, so close... and I'm just finding out now."

Finding Emily's address wasn't hard for Sophia.

With the right price, private investigators could track her down through friends and

family. Sophia quickly got Emily's address.

Still seething with anger, Sophia had rushed from the hotel to Abigail's house.

She saw Emily, heavily pregnant, leisurely cleaning her home.

Alone and vulnerable.

Such a perfect opportunity, Sophia wouldn't miss it.
